Technical Marketing Engineer
Summary
The Technical Marketing Engineer (TME) shall be a key member of the Product Management team and will be the technical expert on Meru's products, technologies and competitive products.
The TME will be responsible for developing solutions for customer applications, understanding and communicating product interoperability and develop in-depth technical solutions on topics including wireless LANs, LAN networking, Enterprise security, VoIP, Wireless voice and more.
The TME will be responsible for competitive testing, technical evaluation of competitor's products and competitive bakeoff testing for customer engagements and publications. Responsibilities include test plans, test execution and detailed communication of test results.
The TME will be a focal point for Meru's VoIP Unplugged program to test interoperability with partner products and develop appropriate solution notes.
The TME will be responsible for development of white papers, technical briefs, and implementation documents for publication on the web and printed media.
The TME will participate in technical forums, industry events, and other speaking events and industry shows.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
BSEE or BSCS with 6+ years in technical marketing, customer support, or equivalent role.
- Has thorough understanding of networking technology and the ability to develop strong technical knowledge of company products.
- Strong understanding of LAN and WAN networking protocols and technologies, including switching, routing, and security, is required. Well recognized industry certification like CCNA/CCNP is required, CCIE/CWNP preferred.
- Understanding of 802.11 and other wireless technologies is highly desirable.
- Outstanding communication skills and demonstrated ability in developing and delivering complex technical presentations.
- Proficient in presenting in front of various-size sales team, customer audiences and industry forums.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in design, development and implementation of technical papers and reports.
- Experience driving projects in a cross-functional team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, parallel projects to deadline.
- Experience developing and presenting competitive product analysis for SEs, RSMs and channel partners.
