How much effort and expense
do you waste in wireless channel planning?
Extending a Meru network is as easy as the initial deployment. With no channel planning, access points can be added or moved at any time without affecting others or interrupting connections. In addition, a Meru network is already able to handle any application, whether toll-quality voice, high-definition video, or pervasive telemetry, minimizing the need for upgrades to accomodate new applications.
Simply Install an Access Point Where Coverage is Needed
With Meru's Virtual Cell architecture, all APs within a network can use the same radio channels. This dramatically simplifies the site survey process. There is no need for costly and time-consuming channel planning every time an access point is added or moved, or for inaccurate software that attempts to predict coverage patterns and AP power settings. In a legacy microcell installation, this can account for 80% of the total cost.
Upgrade to 802.11n Without Disrupting Operations
For organizations whose 802.11n upgrade cycle doesn't coincide with purchasing new access points, software upgradeable access points are available from Meru. These include future-proof 802.11a/b/g radios with 802.11n features that can be activated through a license key. Organizations can time the move to 802.11n to fit their budget and client mix, upgrading one access point or even one radio at a time, if needed. And because 802.11n rogues can affect any network, Meru's software-upgradeable access points are all able to scan for 802.11n security threats right out of the box.
Improve Productivity and Eliminate Radio Interference
When the time comes to upgrade to 802.11n, Meru's spectral efficiency means that it can support the highest 300 Mbps data rates at both 2.4 GHz. and 5 GHz without interference. Other vendors cannot, because their microcell architecture requires multiple non-overlapping channels which the 2.4 GHz. band cannot accommodate. And because all Meru access points transmit at maximum power, there is no need to sacrifice either 2.4 GHz. or 5 GHz. coverage as with other wireless LANs. A single access point can serve both bands equally well; this is important because it gets the most out of 802.11n technology which can support both bands.
Handles Any Application
Even if a Meru network is initially used only for data, it can easily progress to voice and video. Smooth roaming and high Quality-of-Service is inherent to a Meru network, providing toll-quality voice, high-quality video delivery and precise location tracking, all while prioritizing traffic to suit an organization's business needs.
