Network Threat Defense
The final step for attackers once they have connected to a network is to access specific resources. Though an effective defense of the connection itself means that attackers should rarely reach this stage, effective network-layer protection is still necessary to protect against insider threats and stolen devices. Meru offers strong policy enforcement that can protect against threats from insiders and outsiders alike, with the Virtual Port giving each user access only to specific, authorized resources.
- Strong RADIUS Authentication. Verify the identity of every user or device, utilizing and supporting all popular EAP types.
- Per-User Policies and Role-based Access Control. Limit a device's privileges to those that match its capabilities and the user's job description.
- Application and Signature Firewall. The firewall classifies traffic based on flow signatures as well as deep packet inspection, letting it throttle or block even encrypted applications.
- Guest Access. Provide Internet access without sharing private data or compromising performance for internal users. The Virtual Port's per-user settings ensure that guests authenticate using a captive portal while limiting their activity.
