Perimeter Threat Defense
Where wired networks are naturally protected by physical barriers like walls and security guards, wireless radio waves pass unencumbered through most objects. This has led to drive-by attacks, during which intruders simply sit in the parking lot and listen to radio traffic. Though strong encryption can make this traffic unintelligible to outsiders, many networks still need to support legacy devices, and there is always the risk of a compromised encryption key. To protect against these threats, Meru is the only vendor that offers physical-layer protection, preventing radio signals from being detected outside a perimeter.
- RFBarrier™ selectively blocks transmissions as they pass the network's perimeter, preventing outsiders from knowing that the wireless LAN even exists.
