Redundancy Module
Meru already makes wireless reliable, with an architecture that eliminates the problems of co-channel interference and badly behaved clients. The virtualized Wireless LAN offers redundancy at the radio layer because multiple Virtual Cells can be set up on different channels in the same place. This gives clients multiple connectivity options if one channel is blocked by interference or if an access point fails.
The Redundancy Module for System Director offers even more protection, ensuring instant failover in the event of a controller or backend network problem.
Features
- N+1 Redundancy. There is no need for each controller in a large deployment to have its own backup. A single spare controller can act as backup for many, automatically replacing any one that fails.
- Remote Redundancy. A single, centralized controller in a data center can back up multiple controllers at remote sites such as branch offices.
